VESNA holds a locally cut Australian sapphire above a star set natural white diamond. The diamond layer is sharply engraved with an ornate starburst, cut to catch and direct light through the stone above.
The two stones form a composite setting. Light passes between them, creating the effect of a carved sapphire, though the surface remains untouched.
This approach draws on illusion mounting, where engraving and structure alter the way a stone reads, adding depth without increasing size
